Lubasi Home is located in Livingstone, Zambia. Lubasi means family in Silozi.
Lubasi Home provides residential care for orphans and vulnerable children who have no family to look after them. Most of them have been orphaned as a result of the AIDS pandemic, which affects about 30% of adults in Livingstone.
Lubasi admits children aged 5 to 10 years old and aims to care for them until they are able to sustain themselves or are taken into families. The Department of Social Welfare with the help of community organizations selects the children. The only condition for admission is need of care.
